This plate is a late war variety with a raised spread-winged eagle and wreath on a coarsely stippled filed with a wide brass tongue on the reverse. The detail on the plate is excellent. The top wings of the eagle, the shield on his chest and the wreath are very high and pronounced. The plate has a moderate patina throughout which is darker in the lower areas.
