Rectangular plate of the pattern used by officer’s during the Civil War.

Plate is all brass and has a very clean face with wonderful detail. Raised areas are a bit brighter than the rest giving the plate a nice look. Much of the original gilt remains on the face.

The reverse of the plate is in as good a condition as the front. It has a small tongue which is correct for the Civil War period.

The edge opposite the keeper, behind the tongue has a bench mark of “762” and the letter “K.” Scratched lightly into the back of the plate is “CO. E, 131 P.V.”

Plate is really a beautiful piece free of major imperfections and only light surface dirt.
