Die struck rolled brass plate with a very pronounced raised five-pointed star at center surrounded by a rectangular border. Between the border and the edge of the plate there is a garland of oak leaves with twelve five-pointed stars evenly spaced. The star at center would represent the thirteenth star.

The reverse has an applied tongue and belt loop bar. Reverse has a patina to match the face.

Plate is attached to an early bridle leather belt that meas. approx. 2.00 inches wide. Belt is complete with both drops and the drops are complete with adjustable attachments. One drop is sewn in place and one is held by an iron rivet. The belt has a double row of holes on one end for attaching the plate while the opposite end has a sewn in brass keeper.
