Plate is a little larger and is slightly more convex than those normally encountered. This is simply a contract variation.
The face has a nice, smooth, mellow patina with a strongly stamped “US” and light surface scratches. Face is uncleaned.
Reverse has 100% lead fill with both arrow hooks and tongue. Lead surface has darkened with age and has the initial “D” between the hooks and tongue. There are also several other small scratches that look as if they may be letters but they are difficult to see. [ad]
