U.S. ENLISTEDMAN’S WAIST BELT AND PLATE

$325.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 490-1017

Bridle leather waist belt and buckle. The exterior surface has lost most of its original black finish leaving the leather a mellow light brown color. The oval New York makers stamp remains partially visible. The letters “F.M.M” are also stamped midway along the belt. The Pattern 1839 oval US belt plate has a clean face with only minor dents in the edge. The plate’s reverse has 100% of the lead fill, the tongue and both arrow hooks. The end of the belt opposite the plate retains the brass keeper. Keeper is still firmly held in place by the two remaining prongs.  An original and very supple Civil War enlistedman’s belt and buckle.   [jet]
