Non-dug example of the US Pattern 1839 cartridge box plate.
The face is bright but has numerous scratches scattered across the surface. There is also some discoloration around the edges with small amounts of verdigris.
The reverse has 100% of the lead fill and both loops though they are rusted. The surface of the lead has also discolored from exposure to moisture. [AD]
