Plate is made up of two round brass discs one decorated with an eagle and the other with a “US” and stacked muskets. The two sections of the plate are joined by an “S” hook. All three pieces of the plate have a nice matching dark, almost black patina.
Wear on the face of each plate is minimal. The raised surface of the stacked muskets and the letters “US” have retained their brass color and stand out nicely against the dark patina.
Reverse of the eagle has some minor scratches in the patina while the reverse of the section with the stacked muskets has a collector’s number in black ink.
Very nice uncleaned example. [AD]
