Very nice example of the waist belt plate worn by Confederates in the Western Theater of the war. Face is excellent with just the lightest patina. The back has tongue and both attachment hooks. There are three very small nicks along top edge. Back has types label that reads "C.S.A. regulation buckle. Type worn by Western Confederate troops . From the field of Corinth, Miss. Secured in 1952 from Mrs. B. F. Worsham of Corinth whose family found this plate on the battlefield years ago." Page from Mr. Gavin's log book comes with the item. The information on the log book page repeats what is written on the label described above.
