MODEL 1858 SMOOTHSIDE CANTEEN WITH COVER, SLING & STOPPER

$400.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 516-89

The body of this Model 1858 smoothside spheroid canteen is in good condition with no dents. It is covered in a light brown almost gray cloth. Cover is complete but does have numerous scattered wear spots.

All three sling keepers are present as is the cotton sling which shows heavy wear with numerous separations. Sling does not display any markings.

Pewter spout is slightly bent on one side of top edge. It is unmarked and comes with the original chain and stopper. Chain fastens to canteen by a punched hole in one of the top sling keepers.

This is a nice representative of a Civil War canteen.  [ad]
