Tin smooth side canteen with original canvas cover, sling, spout with cork, pull ring and chain. Three sling keepers are present. Body of canteen is good, with some light surface rust and dents. Canteen measures approx. 8” across x 3” thick.
Still visible, despite significant wear, is the Indian war style dark stencil of crossed rifles with an “A” above and a “3. CT” below, which indicates Co. “A”, 3rd Connecticut Volunteer Infantry. [SM]
