CONFEDERATE TIN DRUM CANTEEN PICTURED IN ALBAUGH’S BOOK ON CONFEDERATE ARMS

This tin drum canteen is a little wider than most encountered. It meas. approx. 6.00 inches across x 1.75 inches wide. Each side panel has a raised ring approx. 0.50 an inch from the edge. Two of the three sling keepers are present with the bottom most being missing. The keepers are made of thin tin wire.

Spout is bowl shaped and also made of tin. There is no cork or chain.

The body of the canteen is in excellent condition with a very nice dark patina. There are no dents but one side does have two small pin sized holes.

With the canteen is a copy of “CONFEDERATE ARMS” by William A. Albaugh III and Edward N. Simmons. The book meas. approx. 8.75 x 11.25 inches and runs 278 pages.

Dust jacket is torn at top left and bottom right corners. Interior is in very nice condition.
