Philadelphia Depot spheroid canteen in good condition. The body of the canteen has several minor indentations but nothing serious. All three sling keepers are present as is the spout.
The entire body of the canteen, including the pewter spout, has been painted gold. This was usually done to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the war or we have often seen it done for the 50th anniversary of the battle of Gettysburg. Paint is good with several small scattered chips.
Sounds like the remains of the cork is rolling around the inside. [ad]
