This is a nice Confederate or militia style tin drum canteen. The canteen is 6 ½” in diameter by approximately 2 ½” thick. All parts are nicely soldered together. Both faces feature two separate concentric rings. There is a 1" tall tapered tin spout soldered to the top and three thin sling straps attached equidistant around the body.

This type of canteen was carried over from the 1840s-50s and used by many Confederates in the Civil War. This canteen shows use but is in good solid condition with only small patches of light surface rust.  [jet]
