This cross shaped badge has a black cloth backing with a buckram center for stiffening.
The edge is made of embroidered gold thread with a sky-blue wool center.
The gold thread has some tarnish from age and the sky-blue wool center has faded a little from exposure to the sun. There are also a few snags in the material on the upper arm of the cross where a regimental number MAY have been affixed.
