Pair of dress, bullion epaulettes for a Colonel of the Second Infantry in their japanned tin carrying case.
Epaulette upper-surfaces feature silver bullion Colonel’s eagles and blue oval “pillows” with number “2”. Gilt ribbed strap with a single row bullion border, brass outer shell, with triple row of hanging bullion tassels. Undersides are covered in yellow silk with shoulder cushions and brass fastener clasps.
The epaulettes exhibit very slight tarnish and “rubs”. Silk on undersides is in poor shape with portions missing. One of the four lengths of brown shoe-string ties remain. Overall epaulette condition, VG to fine. Carrying case is in nice condition. Japanning on outer surface exhibits minor scratching. Inner case clean and unscratched. Complete with handle and side clasp fastener. [jet]
