A very interesting hat insignia for a musician. Possibly Civil War or Indian Wars era, this is constructed of a stamped brass wreath and small numbers (“24”) of the false embroidered pattern. A most unusual and possibly specially-made trumpet is found in the center. All pieces are mounted on a piece of black wool with reinforced backing. Several small moth nips to the wool, otherwise very nice. Piece is 2 ½” wide x 1 ¾” tall. Numbers are ½” tall. [jet]
