This is a very rare find that came out of an artillery collection.
Artillery whip has a turned wood handle with a brass cap at the end where the rawhide ties through to attach braided leather whip. This whip was uniquely made from one continuous piece of leather. End of whip has braided horse hair tassel. Overall, this item is in mint condition considering age and use.
Leather is still flexible and shows some light crazing. Wooden handle is in excellent condition with just some slight scratches and dings.
Handle measures 13 ¾” long. Leather measures 42” long.
