This is a 35-½ inch by 1 15/16-inch belt made from a crossover strap. The strap was simply cut at the ends, two adjustment holes added and the 1839 pattern buckle attached. The loop is still attached. The buckle shows signs of being cleaned in the past but now has a nice aged patina. The belt is made of white buff leather and is in excellent condition. The slit to attach a crossover plate is 3 inches to the right of the buckle. Inside is stenciled R 12.   [ff]
