VICTORIAN ERA ENGLISH SHOULDER BELT & POUCH

$225.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 30-2027

Brocade belt backed with Moroccan leather approx. 2.00 inches wide. Item was meant for wear over one shoulder. The ends of the belt are connected to a small cartridge box or pouch that would sit in the middle of the back when worn.

The gold brocade shows some light surface dirt from age and storage. There is very little surface wear. The back of the top surface just above the leather pouch has three ornate heavily gilted pieces of a size adjustment buckle, slider and tip.

The leather underside has two triangular shaped spots of wear with another area with some built up surface dirt. At the apex of the underside is a cloth loop for attaching to an epaulette button which helps to hold the belt in place.

The small cartridge box or pouch on the back of the belt has a flap with a small brass rendition of the English Royal Coat of Arms on a red cloth backing attached. The leather surface of the pouch shows moderate crazing but otherwise it is good.

The Queen’s crown on the Royal Coat of Arms along with the items construction would place it in the late Victorian era which was from 1837 to 1901.

A very attractive item that will display well.  [AD]
