This well-worn group consists of a belt and buckle, percussion cap pouch, frog portion only of model 1855 bayonet scabbard, and a holster.
The waist belt has a standard US enlisted buckle (with arrow hooks) mounted on the belt and a brass keeper. Leather is worn with moderate surface cracking but has been treated and remains supple.
On the belt is a percussion cap pouch. The condition is worn but is soft and pliable. This pattern has the integral closing tab as part of the flap. The interior flap is supple and has both inner “ears” remaining in place. The original fleece and nipple pick are long gone. Bottom has brass finial. Both belt loops are replacements. All stitching is intact.
The leather belt loop, or frog portion, is all that remains of the bayonet scabbard.
A medium sized holster is also on the belt. It is a has had the flap cut off and has open nose. It measures about 9” long and was probably for a small Colt or Manhatten revolver. A single belt loop is riveted to the back. Leather body shows wear with cracks and chips to the finish. Brass finial on front.
A full set of leather accoutrements. [jet]
