Outstanding leather exterior in “like new” condition. Leather is smooth and clean with hardly any signs of wear and use. Outer flap has crisp “US” stamping. The back of the box has gentile surface wear patterns from slight use. Both belt loops on back are in matching excellent condition. Top center of back has a light stamping of “ROCK ISLAND, ARSENAL” in two lines in an oval. Also, one belt loop is stamped with “G.McM.” while the other is marked “W. L. F.” Brass finial with brass escutcheon closure device on flap. Interior is lined with brown lamb’s wool. Brass of finial and face of escutcheon have light build up of verdigris but nothing major. Super example in very, very fine condition.
