This cap box is in very good condition overall. Leather is strong and supple. Latch tab is intact with no tears. Brass finial is present. Inspector’s mark is present at the bottom of flap and reads, “R. WHITE, US BORDER INSPECTOR”.
The inner flap is complete and has both ears intact. Some light crazing is present. Stamped on the flap is maker’s mark, “S. H. YOUNG CO, NEWARK, N.J.” The interior has the fleece lining and nipple pick.
The body of the box is very good as well. Stitching is tight. Both belt loops are present on the back and are in good condition. [AD]
