This is an original Civil War percussion cap pouch. The leather throughout the box is flexible and allows the flaps to open. Major cracking to surface finish on outer flap. The outer flap has no tears and features an integral closing tab. Tab has loss of finish around finial hole but is unbroken. The interior flap is in nice smooth condition, has both ears firmly sewn in place, and has a “B” stamped in the center. The body of the box is also in nice condition with no fleece but the nipple pick is present. Bottom has pointy brass finial. Reverse has both belt loops. Belt loops were stitched and riveted. Stitching throughout is tight and unbroken. This is a very solid percussion cap pouch.  [jet]
