CONFEDERATE CAP POUCH

$1,295.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 773-05

This is a nice example of a Confederate-made percussion cap pouch. In good condition, this pouch looks much like its northern counterpart. The back, outer/front flap, and latch tab are a single piece of leather. The tab is complete and unbroken. There is moderate cracking and crazing to the finish on the outer flap. The finial is brass. The single belt loop is of very thin leather and 1 ½” wide…a definite Confederate characteristic. The inner flap retains the side “ears” sewn in place.  Leather is slightly stiff. Most stitching is complete and tight; top of belt loop has lost a few stitches. No lamb’s wool remains.   [jet]
