CIVIL WAR ISSUE KNAPSACK

$195.00 ON HOLD

Quantity Available: 1

Item Code: 1053-03

This is the standard issue double bag knapsack made out of tarred canvas. The bag opens to reveal two inside pockets. One side has a single pocket with a tie-down flap closure. The other has four flaps that come together and buckle into place to form the pocket.

All the roller buckles and straps for the inner pocket remain. All of the separate pieces that make up the leather shoulder straps are present but in worn condition. All associated brass hooks and iron roller buckles found on the straps and bottom of pack also remain. The surface of the strap leather features some crackling and flaking with one piece nearly torn through. No marker or inspector’s marks present. Several minor splits in the tarred canvas overall with one larger tear in the middle of the central fold. All four anchors for the blanket straps are present along the top.

Will display well.  [jet]
