Made of a heavy tan and ivory striped cotton, these trousers are in overall good condition. They feature a 42 ½ " waist with a 32" inseam and measure 12 ½ " wide across the widest portion of the trouser leg. Trousers exhibit a 1 ½ " wide, dark brown cotton lining on the inner waistband. Lining is very frayed. Waistband supports a full pocket slit on each side. Inner pockets are made of muslin. There are no pockets on the back of the trousers.
Other features are a button-down fly that retains its four original tin and one brass 4-hole garment buttons, tightly sewn to the opening. Six tin buttons are stitched to the waistband. Button holes are hand sewn.
Trouser leg areas, in front and in back, overall, exhibit various small pulls and holes from insect damage. The most damaged area is at the bottom of the back of the right leg where there is a larger hole, approx. 1 ½” x 1 ¼”. All trouser seam stitching is original and is in strong tight condition. Both trouser cuffs have a 1” hem and are not lined.
