This is a souvenir of the Great Virginia Agricultural, Mechanical and Tobacco Exhibition held in Richmond, Virginia, from October 3 through November 21, 1888. Here is a medal and hanger, with connecting link missing.

The stamped brass hanger features a floral design on the face with simple spring pin soldered to the back. The link connecting this and the “coin” is missing. The heavy medal measures 1 ½” in diameter and 1/8” thick. One side has a group of agricultural and mechanical implements e.g. scythe, rake, spade, anvil, shock of wheat, barrel, etc. in the center. Above this reads, “Souvenir”; below reads, (microscopic) “P. L. Krider Co. Phila.” Around border is “The Virginia Agricultural Mechanical & Tobacco Exposition”. The opposite side bears a full standing figure in uniform who is presumably Stonewall Jackson. Around the border is “Richmond Virginia * * * Jackson * * *”.
