CDV album has brown leather cover with embossed design on the front and back. Leather is in good condition, with some wear all over, but especially on the spine, edges and corners. Decorative printed paper lining on inside of front and back covers. All pages are present and intact with the exception of the decorative title page which is loose. This title page has a gold and pink floral design and reads, “PHOTOGRAPHS”. It is followed by an index page which has not been written on. The edges of the pages are gold gilt which has retained its brightness. The album originally closed with two decorative gold colored metal clasps, one of which is still firmly attached, but one missing.
Album contains 25 images. There is space for 50 images. There are a variety of men and women of all ages. Men are in civilian attire. These images are all of individuals, and not of couples or families.
Backmarks include Bangor, Brunswick, Camden and Farmington, ME; Lawrence, MA; and Boston, MA.
Album measures approx. 6” x 4 ¾’ x 2 ¾”.
This is a great album for a collector of civilian images.
