Very nice post war copy of a wartime image of President Lincoln seated in a chair and posed in a slight left profile.
The original image was taken by Mathew Brady on January 8, 1864 and shows the President in his usual dark suit with well groomed hair and looking very neat.
Image is clear with excellent contrast. The bottom edge of the card is marked HANDY… WASHINGTON, D.C.
A previous owner has written the wrong date of “1861” in pencil and at very bottom they have written “ORIGINAL.”
Card is in a modern heavy wooden frame that meas. approx. 6.00 x 8.00 inches.
Nice affordable image of the martyred President. [ad]
