Andrew A. Powers was a 31 year old shoemaker residing in Bolton, MA when he enlisted on 9/4/62 as a 1st Lt. On 9/16/62 he was commissioned into Co. I, 5th Mass. Infantry. Mustered out on 7/2/63 at Camp Lander, Wenham, MA. Promoted to Captain 4/18/64 as of Co. I, 5th Mass. (100 days). 7/19/64 commissioned into Co. I, 5th Mass. Mustered out 11/16/64 at Readville, MA.
