CDV is a waist-up view of Union Major Surgeon B.B. Leonard. He is wearing a dark colored civilian frock coat, vest, white shirt and cravat. Bottom of mount has a handwritten inscription which reads, “B.B. LEONARD MAJOR SURGEON 84 REGIMENT O.V.I. CIVIL WAR 1861-64”.
Benjamin B. Leonard enlisted as a Surgeon on 6/10/62 and was mustered into the 84th Ohio on that date. He mustered out on 9/20/1862 at Camp Delaware, OH.
Reverse does not have a photographer’s imprint.
Image is clear and the contrast is good. Surface has some light dirt from age. Image has yellowed with time.
