2/3 length standing view in fine condition. Has light soiling and foxing throughout. Wears double breasted frock coat, waist belt with buckle, officer's sash, and sword. Holds hat in his hand with infantry insignia visible; regimental number at center is blurred. BM: J. W. Black, Boston.
Worcester was a 36 year old clerk in Marlborough, MA as a Major. On 10/8/62 he was commissioned into 5th Mass. Infantry. Mustered out on 7/2/63 at Camp Lander, Wenham, MA. Promoted to Lt. Col. 7/22/64. On 7/28/64 he was commissioned into 5th Mass. infantry. Mustered out 11/16/64 at Readville, MA. Died 11/4/96. [ld]
