Image shows a young Confederate standing cross legged beside a draped column. He wears a light nine-button shell jacket with three buttons on each cuff and a standing collar. His trousers are just a shade darker than his jacket. He is posed with his hands in front of him holding a slouch hat.
Image is clear with excellent contrast. Mount has some light wear along edges.
Reverse has a period pencil inscription at top “CAPTURED REBEL.” The first word in the inscription is difficult to decipher. Back mark is for C. SMITH of PHILADELPHIA. Reverse also has a canceled tax stamp and date of “64.” [ad]
