CDV is of a young Private soldier standing by a column doing his impression of the Emperor Napoleon. The subject wears a dark kepi, shell jacket and light trousers. Instead of putting his whole hand in his jacket in the classic Napoleonic pose he managed to squeeze in two fingers between his fastened buttons.
The clarity of the image is passable but the contrast is light. Upper mount corners are clipped and there is light surface dirt around the edges.
Reverse has photographer’s imprint for WM. STROUD…NORRISTOWN, PA. [ad]
