This is a waist-up view of an older couple. Man is wearing a dark colored civilian frock coat, vest, white shirt with stand-up collar and cravat. He is also wearing spectacles. Woman is wearing a dark colored dress and white day cap which is tied under the chin with wide ribbons.
Image is clear and contrast is good.
Image comes housed in a full pressed paper embossed case which is in excellent condition. Case is lined with faded red colored velvet with an embossed design. Decorative brass mat surrounds the image.

This sword was probably sold by Schuyler, Hartley & Graham of New York. The pattern is pictured in their 1864 catalogue in figures 13 and 16. Rather than have a standard blade, the lightly curved 32 inch blade has "B.K." (Battery K) on the left… (870-447). Learn More »
