Early image, circa 1847, shows a waist up, seated view of a man and woman against a painted backdrop. Woman is wearing a dark colored cloak and white cap. Man is a wearing dark colored frock coat, vest, white shirt and cravat. Image is clear with good contrast. Light oxidation has occurred on mat and plate.

Image comes housed in a full leatherette case with decorative mat. Case has split and shows minor wear. [sl]
