Image is a three-quarter seated view of a young soldier wearing the distinctive dark shell jacket with a double row of piping down the front peculiar to the 15th Pennsylvania Cavalry. He also wears a light colored military vest and trousers.

The subject has Corporal chevrons, veteran’s stripes, buttons and piping that are all touched with gilt paint and the soldier’s cheeks have a rose colored tint.

Image is very crisp, clear and clean with excellent contrast.

Image comes in a half leather case with brass mat and frame.

The 15th Pennsylvania Cavalry was organized in October of 1862 and was assigned to the Army of the Cumberland. The regiment saw action at Stones River, Mossy Creek and several smaller skirmishes.

During its service the regiment lost 128 officers and men killed, died wounds and disease plus others wounded. [ad]
