The face of this Pattern 1839 oval US cartridge box plate is clean and free of scratches, dings or dents and has a nice mellow patina throughout. The condition of the face is one of the nicest we have seen in a while.

The reverse 95% of the lead fill with small amounts missing along the edge. Only rusted remnants of the iron hooks remain.

Item comes housed in a riker box. Under the foam padding of the box is a hand drawn map showing where at Manassas the plate was recovered in 1985.
