This unusual fighting knife was found in the 1980’s near the Franklin Pike in the area of Nashville, Tennessee.
The knife was made by flattening part of an iron rod into a blade and then curling the rest of the rod over onto itself to form the handle. The blade meas. approx. 14.50 inches long and is approx. 1.50 inches wide and has a classic clipped point. The blade has a very pronounced sharpened edge. Including the handle, the item meas. approx. 20.50 inches long.
The iron surface is lightly pitted and retains some surface rust. This is a crudely made and very interesting fighting knife.
With the item is a letter of authenticity relating when, where and by whom this relic was found.
