UNION STAFF OFFICER’S COAT BUTTON FROM THE MAC MASON COLLECTION

$65.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 408-290

Nice dug condition staff officer’s coat button with good shank and a good amount of gilt on the face. Maker’s mark reads “EXTRA QUALITY.” Very neat black ink printing on the edge of the back reads “NOELS STATION.”

This item comes from the collection of the late Mac Mason who along with W. Reid McKee wrote one of the earliest books on Civil War ammunition entitled “Civil War Projectiles.” Though their research has been surpassed by Dean and Jim Thomas their work is still a useful reference and Mr. Mason’s tell-tale handwriting on items from his collection make them very collectable.
