This oval belt plate was recovered from the greater Richmond area. Plate meas. approx. 2.50 x 1.75 inches and is made of brass. Face of plate has darkened patina. Reverse of plate features three original iron hooks. Hooks separated from the item as one piece and show evidence of having been glued in place. Patina matches and there is no doubt hooks are original to the plate. Some light rust and surface dirt is present. [sm]
