This relic belt plate was recovered from the Wilderness Battlefield in Virginia in 1974. Name of relic hunter with documentation is on stickers on the reverse. Face of plate features a spread-winged eagle with patriotic shield on his chest, surrounded by a wreath. Reverse has large tongue. Reverse of keeper is marked, “II V X X X”. Plate has acquired a darkened patina.  [sm]
