CS 6-PDR CASE-SHOT STRAPPED TO ORIGINAL SABOT

$2,500.00 SOLD
Originally $3,500.00

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: R21806

A rare Confederate 3.67-inch shell for 6-pounder gun. Nice round ball with crude mould seam and Bormann fuse. Fuse was drilled out in three places, but appears to be a Confederate. Original tin straps  hold the ball to the original wood sabot. The turned-wood sabot features the single 0.25-inch wide groove around the base (used to tie powder bag to sabot). A small piece of an old paper label is attached to the sabot. Unfortunately little information can be gleaned from the tag. Attractive patina to wood and shell. Very clean and in overall exceptional condition. A very displayable piece that be a great addition to any collection.  [jet]
