Here is a small piece of wood containing a fired Civil War bullet, the remains of a tree that was in the line of fire. Recovered from an unknown battlefield.  The piece measures about 1 ¾” long. The bullet is a .58 caliber 3-groove minie ball. The ball looks to have come loose and been glued in place.    [jet]
