Here is a small piece of wood containing a fired Civil War bullet, the remains of a tree that was in the line of fire at Spotsylvania, Virginia.  The piece measures about 1 ¼” round. The bullet is a .58 caliber 3-groove minie ball with cone cavity facing out. The wood is stable and the piece has been coated.    [jet]
