This very rare brass belt plate was recovered from the greater Richmond area. Plate has a darkened patina. Edge of plate has very slight nicks. Scratched into the front of the plate below “VMM” is “J W W”. Reverse of plate still retains lead fill. Carved into the lead fill are the initials, “JH”. A single arrow head hook and narrow tongue are present. [sm]
