A complete fired US 3 inch Hotchkiss shell with the standard pattern brass fuse adapter. Three large flame grooves cut into the side of the shell to allow the flames to ignite the paper time fuse. Lead sabot intact. Shell lightly cleaned and varnished. Location of recovery painted on shell. Nice example found in the early 1970s. [ws]
