Excavated Civil War era non-commissioned officer’s belt buckle. Cast brass eagle buckle which would have originally had an applied German silver wreath, which is now missing.  The buckle has a great dark patina. This has the narrow ½ inch wide hook on back. The detail of the eagle remains very good.  Recovered with belt keeper.  [jet]
