Small sized frame buckle measuring 59mm wide x 65mm tall. Smooth face. A shallow channel cast in the back gives this plate its name. Plate is in very nice condition. This is an excavated buckle but must have been totally cleaned when dug as there is no typical “relic” color. Written on the front is “MALVERN HILL / July 1, 1862”. [jet]
