This is a Confederate “drum side” canteen. It retains its three strap brackets and tin spout (although it is pushed down into body). In excavated condition. Slightly pushed in sides, few small holes in bottom, with heavy rust overall.  Still solid.  Recovered “100 yards west of Potomac Run Bridge, Falmouth, Virginia.”  [jet]
